Privacy Policy — Sudoku

This privacy policy describes how the Sudoku app ("the app", "we") handles user information.

Who we are

What data is processed

The app does not require an account and has no server: your game progress, settings, and hint balance are stored only on your device (local Hive storage) and are never sent to us. Uninstalling the app permanently deletes this data.

The only data processed by third parties, strictly for advertising and in-app purchases, is:

Advertising (Google AdMob)

To show ads (banner, interstitial, rewarded ad for a free hint), the app uses the Google AdMob SDK, which may collect:

an advertising identifier (IDFA on iOS, Android advertising ID),
technical and usage data (device type, OS, ad interactions),

for ad delivery and, if you consent, ad personalization.

GDPR consent (UMP): on first launch, in relevant regions (European Economic Area, UK), the app shows Google's official consent form (User Messaging Platform) before any personalized ad. You can change your choice at any time via Settings → Info → "Manage ad consent" (this button only appears if your region requires it).
App Tracking Transparency (iOS): on iOS, a separate system permission is requested before any cross-app advertising tracking. Declining does not prevent you from playing or seeing ads (non-personalized ads are shown instead).

In-app purchases

Purchases (hint packs, remove ads) are processed directly by Apple (App Store) or Google (Play Store) depending on your platform. We never receive or store your payment details; we only receive confirmation that a purchase was made, to unlock the corresponding content on your device.

What we don't do

We do not sell any data.
We do not create user accounts.
We do not collect any data beyond what's necessary for the advertising and purchases described above.

Intended audience

The app is intended for a general audience and is not specifically directed at children under 13 (or under 16, depending on jurisdiction). It does not ask for age or any information that could identify a child.

Your rights

Depending on your country of residence (e.g. GDPR in the European Union), you have rights of access, rectification, deletion, and objection regarding data processed by third parties (Google, Apple) for advertising and purchases. These requests should be made directly to those third parties, or by contacting us at the address below, who will relay them if needed.

You can also, at any time, reset your advertising identifier or disable personalized ads from your device settings (iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Apple Advertising / Tracking; Android: Google → Ads).

Data retention

Local game data is kept as long as the app is installed. Data processed by Google AdMob and by the stores for purchases is retained according to their own respective policies.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated, in particular as the app or applicable regulations evolve. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the latest revision.
